The CMexcel Youth Program has been in existence since 2003 and has made tremendous strides in educating youth about business ownership and the important skills that go into maintaining a successful business (e.g. business operations, management, creativity, brainstorming, product development, marketing, demographic research, promotion, sales accounting, scheduling, customer service, business communication, team-work, etc.). Exposing youth to the “behind the scenes” environment of running a business is a valuable asset and a great opportunity they’ll cherish and use in the near and distance future, whether it's through running their own business or handling their day-to-day business as a student and/or as a responsible young adult.
Teen Center
Ambrose Recreation & Park District/Teen Center serves as the "main location" for the CMexcel Entrepreneurship Youth Program. The Teen Center is furnished with couches (lounge area), wide-screen t.v, ping pong table, billard table, video games, dominoes, chess, basketball facilities, tutoring area and more. The Teen Center provides a safe and fun place for teens to come socialize with their peers and participates in multiple events and excursions. Programs
We offer a variety of different programs and opportunities for youth through our CMexcel Youth Program. Some of the programs we offer to the youth are; Business Training Program, Resume and Job Application Preparation, Internship Program, Teen Leadership Program, Youth Development Leadership Program and Tutoring Program.
Community Involvement
Youth Summits, College Tours, Unity In The Community Event, Spring into Health, Six Flaggs, Bowling, Free Backpack Give-a-way, Community Clean Up and other community service and fun events. Projects
Our youth work on many different projects. One of the major projects our youth participate in is our Screen Printing Project. Through the CMexcel program the youth have started their own screen printing business, providing printed shirts to many organization, schools, agencies and businesses. Community Service Projects are a big part of CMexcel program. Check out the kids "Makin Moves".
